Spring break

So for spring break I took the kids on a road trip rather than staying home and having them bounce off the walls and me trying not to go crazy. Tom had to stay home to earn the money. We were sad he had to stay back but we enjoyed ourselves. First I drove clear to Roy, Utah. This is where my father lives. It was a good 11 hour drive. I only got pulled over once and was let off with a verbal warning. It must of been my day. I really am not a speeder. I got to my dads house around 2 a.m. and ended up pounding on the door to wake them up. I felt so bad, but I really did not want to sleep in the car with the kids. Dad misunderstood me when I had called him a few weeks before to tell him that I was coming and thought that it was going to be in April, so when Cindi, his wife, came to the door, it was a surprise. We got settled in and went to sleep. I stayed there for 3 nights. It was nice for the boys to be able to spend some time with their grandpa. They trashed the place of course, that is their specialty. It was cold outside so staying inside most of the time was what we did. The kids were able to watch cool cartoons that they never get to see at our house because we don't do T.V.. They were super  entertained with just that. Dad made shepherds pie, I loved it but the kids hated it because the food is mixed. He also made me his famous egg in a cup and has me hocked. I showed Tom when I got home. It is much more healthy way to cook over easy eggs. o-well. I got to see Becky, my dads sister, she seems happy. The first picture is of Tommy and my dad. This is a special picture because Tommy is named after my dad. The fifth picture Case was taking it and I told him not to cut our heads off. He took the picture very seriously and showed us laughing. I then he did it right. His little personality is starting to becoming funny. When we were leaving dad always shows his soft spot and got emotional. It was a good visit even though the kids stressed my dad out. I kind of expected that since he really has not dealt with full time kids for about 20 years. What else can you expect. I think our visits will be better when the boys are a little older.

  1. Wow, way to pull off a crazy spring break solo. I wouldhave been frustrated with the date mix up, glad. You ended up having a good visit. Sorry about the hospital. Visit head wounds seem to gush lots of blood.
